Why did China get involved in the Korean War?
China found the UN forces to be a threat so, they warned them to stop further advancment. The forces didn't listen and therefore China ordered an attack across the Yalu River. This attack drove the UN forces across the 38th parallel. Then, MacArthur demanded the approval to expand the war against China. MacArthur wanted a blockade of all Chinese ports, the use of the Nationalist forces, and the use of atomic weapons to bomb cities. But, this caused a disagreement between Truman and MacArthur because Truman was not for expanding war or using atomic weapons. MacArthur went against Truman's opinion and stated that the only way to come out victorious is to use an atomic bomb.
- April 1951, Truman fired MacArthur for insubordination
-Truman was then judged by the people for firing MacArthur, but he persisted on sticking to a limited war
