General John H. Church
As the North Korean Army began invading South Korea, Church was sent by MacArthur to work with South Korea’s US Ambassador and the Korean Military Advisory Group. Church eventually was placed in command of the 24th Infantry Division (*General Wiliam F. Dean* was captured). Church stayed in command of the 24th until early 1951.
