General Matthew Ridgway
After MacArthur was fired, Ridgway was chosen to replace him. He was sent into Korea to clean up the mess that was made by General MacArthur, after the UN and MacArthur got sent back to the border and captured the capitol of South Korea again. When Ridgway was sent in, he prevented a counteroffensive about 75 miles of the capitol so that the area could be reestablished. Ridgway was able to contain the enemy through fighting to establish the original border of North and South Korea. Being able to contain the enemy lines helped lead to the truce agreement.
